The accuracy of wave 3 is questionable considering in another critique on wave 3, the information they had presented online about a former sheriffs deputy officer had been false. That leads to the question, how much of what wave 3 delivers to the public is true? Of course, the general public will not always been one hundred percent certain on what to believe when it comes to the delivery of news but, people look to these news stations, such as wave, as an insight to what goes on in their city. How will people ever know anything if their main source of news is incorrect?
Now, not all of their news is going to be inaccurate but when comparing wave 3 to other news stations and seeing a difference in information is quite troubling.

Magazines
Magazines
The first magazine was created by Ben Franklin. It was the first medium to ever reach every niche audience which is what led to the major success of it. Until of course, newer technologies replaced the Magazine just like many other mediums throughout history.
I think the magazine doesn't get enough credit for its uses in the American society. I believe that magazines created cultural ties in society back in its prime. It would bring people together to read iconic American literature and talk about news and different stories.
Nowadays, people don't connect on the same personal level now that we have the Internet and other instant communications. We don't come together to discuss literature anymore. Now we talk about how many likes we got on a post or how our lives would be ruined without wifi. Although I'm thankful for these innovations, I feel that going back to magazines would make Americans more educated and culturally rich.

The headline stories on wave 3's online edition are predominantly fluff pieces that don't affect the majority of the populations lives. The headline could be so much more efficient in delivering the news to a bigger mass of people, if only they didn't use it on fluff articles. Instead of reporting petty crimes, or what a business mogul has recently invested in, wave 3 could put political articles as the headline so that more people would be interested in the news that affects them and not just a select few. Some of the online top stories are about events and decisions that the majority of the local population don't even know about which makes the whole point of a top story inefficient.

After recently watching WAVE 3 news, patterns have emerged giving insight about the news station. Wave is good about reporting crime and accidents. Other categories of news, not so much. There are constant stories of car crashes, freak accidents, storms, etc. There is little to no political coverage or stories even though politics are an ongoing and important news topic that affects everyone. Wave could do more political and international coverage because there are many international stories that affect the local population of Louisville. The people need to be informed but it's as if the only stories that make the news are crimes and celebrity fluff.

Movies
Movies
Movies have been and will always be something that people will pay money for, even when it's 2050 and robots were made to watch movies for us. There is just something about a movie theater that will always draw people in.
The immersive experience of movie theaters will keep them in business. The screen is big. The chairs are comfortable and there is surround sound. It's a part of our culture. So many people go on the "dinner and a movie" date which is inexpensive and fun. Many teenagers also go to the movies to hang out with their friends. The movies are a social experience that can't be replaced. Theaters are also the main ways to see new movies first, but now thanks to the Internet, that too is becoming less and less accurate.

Television
Television
One of the most popular mediums ever created was the television. The allure of television is that it combines moving pictures and sound which makes it omnipresent. The television created the decline of radios and soon the Internet will lead to the downfall of television too.
Like the radio, it was a huge success. In 1948 there were 1 million televisions in houses. By 1950 there were 8 million televisions in homes. Even then, only the upper-middle or upper class had them. Fourteen years after that, there were about 73 millions TVs in homes. This was all before televisions had color. After color came into the pictures, almost 97% of people had a television.
It's crazy to think that the tv influences us so much. I never realized how we compare regular life to what we see on tv. For example, there won't always be this coincidental, miraculous moment where you get saved by chance. A better example is that the relationships we see on tv isn't really what happens in reality.

Radio
Radio
Radios were once a popular medium that all people could listen to. The first radio was created by Nikola Tesla but since 1892 has been modified to what we think of as radios today.
I think that radios were important in their time because they could do things that had never been done before such as report news in "real time" (or as quickly as possible).
It's hard to imagine that within a decade, radios had been sold by the millions. Something that helped boost the consumption of radios was world war 1. Many people in America wanted to hear what was going on. I remember reading books that take place during the holocaust, and how the characters in the books risk their lives to listen to the radio reports of the war.
It's a shame that no one recorded early radio because it would have been gratifying to hear the early days of this dying medium.
